How will the funds be used?

Especially in today's economy, $8,500 is a lot to ask. Our plan is to begin the SWR Forum & Resource Center without going into debt, which is one reason we are seeking advance funds to sustain the site for the first six months. Here is how your dollars would be used to lay the foundation of the SWR Forum & Resource Center:

  • Initial website cost: $1,500
  • First 6 months website cost: $2,100
  • Reimburse personal savings: $260
  • Professional consultations (legal, etc.): $3,200
  • Budget for unexpected expenses (10%): $706
  • Kickstarter fees (5%): $388
  • Payment processing fees (5%): $388
If 300 people each contribute $30, we will attain $9,000, securing our minimum with some to spare. If your pledges stretch even more generously above that amount, we have some ideas to build a better Forum from the beginning:

Stretch Goal #1: If we exceed the minimum goal by $900 for a total of $9,400, we will be able to remotely consult with Craig Dehut Media to improve the quality of our videos and purchase a document camera. One improvement the document camera would add to our demonstrations is allowing you to see what a student is writing in real time while interacting with the teacher.


Stretch Goal #2: If we exceed the minimum goal by another $1,800 for a total of $11,200, we can start out with better equipment to more easily produce quality resources and more easily administrate the SWR Forum & Resource Center.


Stretch Goal #3: If we exceed the minimum goal by another $800 for a total of $12,000, then we can hire Jeff Dehut to prepare logos and graphics for an enhanced user experience in the SWR Forum & Resource Center.


Stretch Goal #4: Exceeding the minimum goal by another $2,200 for a total of $14,200 will give our videos and resources a professional touch from the start. Craig Dehut Media will meet with us in person for a multi-day consultation.


(Each of the above stretch goal amounts include a mark-up to account for the additional Kickstarter & payment processing fees.)
